The best of POLO always at Kurland Estate
Although the Plett Polo Easter season was cancelled for 2020 due to Covid-19, and we are yet to get updates for December and January 2020, we hope to see you soon!
Plett Polo Club is based on the beautiful Kurland Estate 15mins from Plettenberg Bay, South Africa. With 9 polo fields in the area, hundreds of ponies, polo pro’s and a 6 month playing season, Plett Polo is widely considered the leading polo club in the country, if not the entire African continent.
Polo was originally started in the area to capitalize on Plett being the leading holiday destination in South Africa, where you can play polo in the morning, have lunch on a wine farm and be at the beach in the afternoon.
The club has now morphed in to the breeding ground for young polo talent in South Africa. We play over 2000 chukkas a year and host hundreds of visitors, both domestic and International.
We hope to see you soon at one of our polo tournaments – as a spectator or a player! Contact us to find out more about joining us this season! The 2019 Plett Polo Festival was exactly what it promised to be! Filled with colour and excitement, this day kicked off with a pony parade and race of true horse-power! Horse vs a Mustang!
At Plett Polo we love to share the magic of the sport with others. Please feel free to contact us should you wish to know more about what is happening at our Club!
The last recorded event at Kurland Estate was the main match between Plett and the Rest of SA. Everyone was kept on the edge of their seat as the players played a game of such speed it brings goosebumps just thinking about it. The visiting players from SA managed to just beat our home team, a knock that Plett won’t easily forget. When the rematch is back, the Plett team plan to make up for the loss and have their names put on the trophy!
